Summary

Cornelius provides administrative and advising support for three graduate programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Cornelius helps to guide students throughout their time at KU, including the admissions process, regular enrollment, petitions, the comprehensive/final exam process, and graduation. He also works with graduate faculty and students to interpret University policies and procedures, develop written and online communications, and maintain student records in his departments.

Cornelius graduated from the University of Kansas in 2016 with a B.A. in Psychology. After graduation he spent time working as an Educational Program Assistant in the Office of First-Year Experience. In this position he helped incoming students to find their own unique path at KU through orientation and welcome programming. Afterwards Cornelius started work on his Master’s in Social Work at Columbia University where he studied forensic social work and supported youth involved in the criminal justice system. Cornelius has a passion for social justice education, particularly with queer and trans individuals, and fond memories of dog walking as a stress relieving hobby. Cornelius’ work focuses on assisting people so that they may succeed in their endeavors.
