Clay Britton

Clay Britton graduated from KU with both degrees in Political Science and History, and with his Juris Doctor.
Fall semesters he teaches Constitutional Law and Governmental Powers. He has served as a Chief Counsel for Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and oversaw the work of attorneys in 13 cabinet agencies. He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney, an associate with Lathrop & Gage LLP in Kansas City, and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Kansas Attorney General.

Amii Castle

Amii Castle received both her Political Science degree and Juris Doctor at KU. She teaches the Constitutional Law and Civil Liberties course Spring semesters. She also teaches Business Law , and teaches in the the Law School.

Amii is organizing Legal Hawks, which will be helping students prepare, such as in preparing for the LSAT

Hon. Judge Jacy J. Hurst

The Honorary Judge Jacy J. Hurst is with the Kansas Court of Appeals. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas and received her Law degree here. She is an adjunct professor at Washburn University and was in private practice in Kansas City before joining the Kansas Court of Appeals. A general business litigator, she ultimately specilized in healthcare regulatory and employment law.

Stephen Martino

Stephen Martino earned KU degrees in political science and journalism and a law degree from Washburn University School of Law. He is Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, where he oversees regulatory compliance across the company's gaming operations. Earlier in his career he was a partner at Duane Morris LLP, Executive Director of the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, and a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas. He serves on the KU Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Ronald Wasinger

Ronald Wasinger graduated from KU in 1990 with a B.A. in German and political science and earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1993. He is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of LG Electronics USA, where he has led the legal department since 2019. Before that he spent 19 years in the legal department at Sony Electronics. His work has included technology, international trade, and manufacturing matters across Asia, Europe, and Brazil. He serves on the KU International Affairs Advisory Board.

Maj. Gen. Clyde "Butch" Tate II (ret.)

Butch Tate earned his bachelor's degree in political science from KU and was commissioned a second lieutenant through KU Army ROTC in 1979, then returned to earn his Juris Doctor from the KU School of Law in 1982. He retired as a major general from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps in 2014, having last served as Deputy Judge Advocate General, one of the Army's top two military attorneys. He is now chief counsel of All Rise, where he leads its Justice for Vets work to help veterans in the justice system. KU honored him with the School of Law's Distinguished Alumni Award, and KU Army ROTC inducted him into its Jayhawk Battalion Wall of Fame in 2005.

Joshua W. Mermis

Joshua Mermis earned his KU bachelor's degree in English and Political Science and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He is the founding and managing partner of West Mermis, PLLC in Houston and is board certified in construction law. His practice focuses on construction, commercial, and energy litigation, including jury trials and arbitrations in multi-million-dollar disputes. He serves on the advisory board of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Mark Hinderks

Mark Hinderks graduated from KU in 1979 with degrees in economics and political science and earned his law degree from the KU School of Law in 1982. He is Senior Counsel at Stinson LLP in Kansas City, where he leads the firm's Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility practice. He previously served for ten years as Stinson's managing partner and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
